Independent lighting specialist Amos Lighting has appointed a manager for its soon-to-launch branch in Topsham.

Ashton Hargreaves, 25, from Exeter, will be taking on the role when the company’s second branch opens opposite Darts Farm later this year.

Having already built up a comprehensive understanding of the business working at the Amos showroom in Marsh Barton, she will be taking full responsibility for the day to day running of the new branch, including the showroom stock, visual merchandising and customer service.

Ashton says she is looking forward to the new challenge of increased responsibility. “I’m absolutely thrilled to be given this opportunity. The new branch is a significant development for the Amos Lighting brand, and I’m looking forward to making the expansion a really big success,” she said.

“I’ve had the best possible grounding at the Marsh Barton showroom, and I’m brimming with ideas for developing the Amos brand in Topsham.”

Ashton brings with her creativity and a good eye for detail, having studied photography at Exeter College before entering the lighting sector. She is looking forward to managing her team, which, as well as including a number of existing Amos staff, will also involve the engagement of new employees.

“This is such an exciting time, watching the building develop – it’s going to be quite a transformation. We can’t wait to show our customers just what’s in going to be available to them – there will be even more lighting inspiration as well as furniture and lifestyle accessories.”

As well as managing the showroom, displays and stock, she has plans to get involved with the local networking scene, build up new business relationships and become immersed in the Topsham vibe.

Amos Lighting MD, David Amos said: “Although Ashton only joined us in 2015, in that short space of time she has shown so much drive, enthusiasm and creativity that she was the clear choice to take responsibility for the new branch.

“She has a really fresh approach and I have no doubt that she will make a very positive mark on out new outlet.”
