Staff from Sanctuary Housing in Exeter have shown their charitable spirit in 2015 by raising more than £2,000 for two national charities. The huge smile on two year old Seraphina Hancock’s face says it all, as she and her dad, Andrew Hancock, sit opposite each other on an Expression Swing – an innovatively designed face-to-face swing - which East Devon District Council has had imported specially from the US and recently installed at Willow Walk play area in Honiton.

Rogue traders ripped off elderly in Devon

Three men have been found guilty of conspiracy to defraud the vulnerable and elderly following an eight-day trial at Exeter Crown Court.

Thomas Maughan, 26, and Thomas Mahon, 45, both of Princes Paddock, Farringdon, pleaded not guilty to the charge brought by the Devon and Somerset Trading Standards Service.

A third man, Matthew Latham, 35, of the same address, pleaded guilty to the same offence.

During his summing up Judge Erik Salomonsen, who bailed the men until sentencing on 4th February 2016, warned them that they could all be jailed.

The construction team working on the Queen St Dining Quarter in Exeter got festive during their lunchtime this week (Monday 14 December 2015), downing tools and bursting into song at St Pancras Church, right at the heart of the redevelopment project.

The festive season is almost upon us, and office workers around the South West may face some disappointment in the workplace, as 28% of people are doubtful they’ll be able to get the time off work they need to enjoy the Christmas holidays.

Office supply company, Viking, surveyed 1,500 office workers to investigate one of the most contentious aspects HR departments have to face: taking time off at Christmas. RGB pledges support to Exeter Foundation

RGB Building Supplies is delighted to announce its involvement with the Exeter Chiefs’ Exeter Foundation by joining their commitment to support the local community as a Foundation XV member.

Like other members, RGB has pledged to raise in excess of £1,500 before July 2016.

The environmental achievements of a Devon-based charity have been recognised with a top international accreditation.

In the past year Devon Wildlife Trust has targeted the impact it and its 80 staff have on the environment. As a result the charity has been able to reduce its gas consumption at its Cricklepit Mill headquarters in Exeter by 55%. Its electricity consumption across all its properties has also been reduced by 20%.
