On Saturday 12 August 2017 Lidl are holding a recruitment fair at Cranbrook’s Younghayes Centre where people can find out about the jobs at their new Regional Distribution Centre, which is set to open in the autumn.

Two Exeter men have today (10 August) been convicted of the murder of James Woodhouse, having killed him over a £700 drug debt, before one of them attempted to dispose of his body in a wheelie bin.

Brett Edwards, 38, of St Thomas, Exeter, and Thomas Killen, 33, of North Lawn Court, Exeter, denied killing 30-year-old James Woodhouse in November 2016 but were found guilty at Exeter Crown Court.

Both Brett Edwards and Thomas Killen were sentenced to life imprisonment to serve a minimum of 17 years.

61-year-old Andrea Rodgers from Torquay, whose mum has dementia, is urging people to register for the event to help the charity raise money for research and services.

Police warning after car park distraction thefts in Exeter

Police are warning the public to be on the lookout following a number of distraction thefts in supermarket carparks around Exeter.

During the past three weeks, police have received reports of seven incidents of distraction thefts in the area, all matching the same description; so far around £1,000 in cash has been stolen from victims.

Bridge Road in Exeter will be closed overnight each evening this week.

The closure will be in place from 8:30pm to 5:30am from tonight (Monday 7 August) to, and including, Thursday 10 August. On Friday night (11 August), the road will be closed from 10pm until 5am on Saturday morning. Resurfacing will be carried out on the widened deck of the Countess Wear Flood Relief structure, and on the sections of road that tie in either end of the Swing Bridge.
