The Devon-wide health and wellbeing charity, Westbank Community Health and Care, is delighted to welcome lawyer Henry Cross as its newest Trustee. Henry is a Senior Associate at Michelmores, specialising in employment law.

A father-of-two from Exeter, Henry already had a broad awareness of the charity when he met Westbank’s Head of Carers Services, Andy Hood, at a networking event a few years ago. When he subsequently learnt that Westbank was looking for a law-oriented Trustee to join its Board, he was quick to express his interest in the role.

Investment banking is arguably one of the most competitive industries on earth. Without robust technology, it's doubtful companies could survive in this space. Due Diligence Is over Fast There's nothing worse than dragging out due diligence to where it becomes expensive and time-consuming. A virtual data room (VDR) removes the barriers that prevent performing these tasks quickly. In the past, it took extraordinarily long times to get this essential function done right. Now, it's much faster because of electronic communications. No longer do firms have to meet together in a real meeting...

Paul West, Branch Manager at RGB Exeter, commented: “The wood is perfect for community organisations who are organising firework displays, or for people looking to complete small projects in their homes. The items generally go into a skip to be destroyed, but as the wood is perfectly usable, we...

Ormiston Wire: how to keep a business thriving for 200 years

A lot of businesses are flash in the pan successes, here today and gone tomorrow – and yet even the most wildly profitable rarely last more than 50 years.

That’s to say nothing of most SMEs, which are likely to fail within less than a decade of establishing themselves.

It takes a great deal of tenacity, then, for a company to stay open for more than two centuries – but that’s...
