Pitch perfect: Football meets rugby in Exeter’s Strive ‘25 takeover

Exeter City Community Trust, the charitable arm of Exeter City Football Club, is stepping into a new sport as it joins a major national initiative to grow women’s rugby in the city ahead of the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025.

The organisation, which is more used to the beautiful game than the oval ball, is joining with Exeter Chiefs and Exeter City Council as the delivery partner for the Strive ‘25 Rugby Challenge, a national programme aimed at engaging 25,000 women and girls in rugby across host cities. On Saturday 23rd June, nine of the One Voice Media team walked the 18-mile Templer Way to raise funds for The Daisy Garland, a charity based in Totnes which operates across the UK and supports families living with drug-resistant epilepsy.

Hospiscare supporters will be taking to the skies above East Devon on Saturday 18 August for a morning of skydives at Dunkeswell Airfield to raise funds for the charity, which supports adults with terminal illnesses in Exeter, Mid and East Devon.

Adoption Support Service wins 2018 Charity Governance Award

Families for Children are delighted to announce that we have been awarded of one of the prestigious Charity Governance Awards for 2018.

Families for Children were chosen from over 20 charities from across the UK each nominated to receive one of seven awards and a £5,000 unrestricted grant. All the shortlisted charities represented a diverse range of activities that include mental health care, family support, overseas aid, community sports programmes and post-natal care.

The Song Cyclists, a group of five singers taking on an unprecedented challenge as they cycle from John O’Groats to Land’s End giving a concert every evening along the way to raise £20,000 for the UK’s largest mental health charity Mind.
