307 Squadron Project invites you to Exeter’s Guildhall, on 15 November 2015, to remember the Polish 307 Squadron that defended the South West of England during the Second World War.

This special event is being attended by The Polish Ambassador Witold Sobków.

307 Squadron, part of the RAF, were night-fighters who fought the Luftwaffe over the skies of Britain and prevented Exeter from being totally destroyed during the blitz on the city in 1942.

Police respond to HMIC Rape Monitoring Group report

In reponse to the HMIC Rape Monitoring Group report out today, Thursday 5 November, Detective Superintendent Keith Perkin, Head of the Public Protection Unit, said: “The increase in reports of rape in Devon and Cornwall is in line with the national average.

“The report indicates that 87% of the increased reports nationally, between October 2012 and March 2015, is as a consequence of Operation Yewtree, the investigation into Jimmy Saville. Devon and Cornwall have not been immune to this and a percentage of the increased reports are down to this.

Exe-Arts community creativity workshops

Exe-Arts, the community arts initiative set up by Superact's Patsy Lang, has reached the halfway milestone after a busy two months of fun creative workshops for all ages in art forms ranging from environmental sculpture and photography to graffiti art and experimental drawing.

As a culmination of the project, many of the pieces will be exhibited at the community festival on 12th December, which will also include a lantern parade and live performances. Luxury jeweller Fraser Hart in Drake Mall, Plymouth, has more than enough style to take on James Bond – and share the limelight with the British spy in his latest outing as 007.

Spectre’s premiere was the springboard for Omega to launch its limited Bond edition watches.

Omega and the iconic 007 character have long associations: James Bond has worn an Omega watch since Pierce Brosnan embodied him in GoldenEye in 1995.

In the 24th film Spectre, Daniel Craig’s portrayal shows him wearing the distinctive Omega Seamaster 300.
