The team behind the Exmouth Pavilion Christmas Pantomime haven confirmed TV Legend and all round good fox, Basil Brush will join pantomime favourite Stuart Earp in this year’s production of Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs.

Exeter's Riverside Leisure Centre reopens

The pool and health suite at Exeter’s Riverside Leisure Centre has re-opened after a four-year closure.

Millions of pounds have been spent on refurbishing the building, following a fire in February 2017 which closed the entire facility for months.

The gym and sports halls were back in operation later that year, but whilst fire damage was being repaired, unrelated structural weaknesses were revealed.

Go batty at The Donkey Sanctuary this summer 

The Donkey Sanctuary Sidmouth will host East Devon’s new travelling creative space – the Creative Cabin on Monday 9 and Tuesday 10 August, offering visitors free hands-on activities and the chance to learn all about one of the UK's rarest bats - the grey long-eared-bat.

Activities at the 'Completely Batty' event include making flying bat models and bat masks, as well as putting together wildflower ‘seed bombs’, to create wildflower gardens at home.

Exeter councillors have recommended that Pinhoe be moved into a proposed new parliamentary constituency with Exmouth.

It follows proposals for a shake-up of England’s electoral map for general elections from 2023. The South West has been allocated an extra three seats, including one in Devon that also strays into parts of Somerset.

New apprentices are training to take to the promenade as they get ready to resurrect traditional seaside entertainment in Britain this summer.

Beachside shows with slapstick, songs and Punch and Judy have become rare as holiday habits change. Now a group of young people are being trained in the art of family seaside entertainments so this entertainment can be seen again, and skills passed down to future generations.

New Exeter Bus Station set to open

The new Exeter Bus Station will open to passengers on Sunday 25 July, it has been revealed.

The new station – a striking glass-fronted building in the heart of the city centre - replaces the current bus station which was constructed in the 1960s.
