The festive ride is described as a must for your family calendar.

Where can I have my second Astra Zeneca dose?

People across Devon are being reminded it’s not too late to have the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

More than thirteen thousand people across Devon are not fully vaccinated more than twelve weeks after their first dose. They include over seven and a half thousand people who initially had a first dose of the Astra Zeneca vaccine.

A study funded by Public Health England found that having only one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine gives around 30% protection against the predominant Delta variant but protection rises substantially after a second dose.

Booster vaccination programme begins in Devon

The first Covid-19 booster vaccinations have been administered in Devon.

Roy Warnes was among the first to have his booster dose at the Home Park vaccination site. Roy has volunteered at Home Park since it opened and explained why it was so important to get his booster vaccination today: “I think some people are getting a bit blasé and taking less care. I would say don’t hesitate to get your booster. I’ve got lots of friends who can’t wait to come.”

In line with JCVI advice people will receive either one dose of the Pfizer vaccine or half a dose of the Moderna vaccine....

Latest consultation launched on Heavitree and Whipton streets

A second round of consultation has been launched on changes to streets in the Heavitree and Whipton areas of Exeter.

More than 570 people took part in the initial consultation last year. A south Devon based firm has received a business boost from Retail Entrepreneur Theo Paphitis.

Last week, OmniPods and Cabins tweeted Theo about their business during ‘Small Business Sunday’ and were one of six weekly winners to gain a retweet by Theo to his near half a million Twitter followers. This year’s Senior’s Open Bowmaker competition had sufficient entrants to allow the allocation of two prize funds: one for home teams and another for visitors.

The best score of the day was recorded by Rich Stevens, Andrew Vickery, and Chris Hazelwood of The Warren Golf Club, which is located on the Dawlish Warren National Nature Reserve. Their score of eighty-three stableford points saw them tied with the Moors Valley Golf Club trio of Alan Newman, Gary Rogers, and Graham Cherrett who ended up in second place by virtue of a countback.

Fostered children lend their voice to new recruitment campaign

Devon County Council has produced three animations using the real voices of young people who now live in foster care.

It's the first time real voices of fostered teens have been used to help promote their fostering service.

The council hopes it will prompt people who have thought about becoming foster parents to come forward to help fill a shortfall, and encourage others to consider it.
