Heat network projects awarded funding to reduce waste and create energy

Heat networks that will use Energy from Waste to be developed in East Devon and London with support of funding awarded through the Government’s Heat Networks Investment Project (HNIP).

Over £250 million of funding has been awarded to heat network schemes under the Heat Networks Investment Project (HNIP) since it opened its doors to applicants in 2018. The total Capex of schemes offered HNIP funding exceeds £826 million highlighting the scale of the opportunity for investment in the sector.

Council hoping for cash for five schemes to boost economy and local transport

Devon is pitching to get £75 million of government cash towards five major schemes.

The county council is bidding for the money in the second round of the ‘levelling up’ fund.

Devon County Council and Cornwall Council have been awarded £1.8 million funding from the Department for Education’s National Skills Fund to run a third year of Skills Bootcamps .

The Train4Tomorrow Skills Bootcamps are flexible courses lasting up to 16 weeks, that offer adults the opportunity to retrain into in-demand job roles in emerging and growth sectors.
