The Department for Transport (DfT) has awarded the Council £51.4 million for its capital budget in 2017/18. Around two in every five GPs in the South West have said they intend to quit within the next five years, exposing the magnitude of the region’s impending healthcare crisis suggesting that the picture for the UK may be particularly challenging.
The University of Exeter’s recent largescale survey of GPs across the region also found that seven out of ten GPs intend to change their working patterns in a way that would mean less contact with patients. This included leaving patient care, taking a career break, or reducing their hours.

East Devon District Council’s Development Management Committee has given the green light to move forward with proposals to revitalise Exmouth seafront.
The district council, who are the landowners at Queen’s Drive, already has outline planning permission to develop the area for leisure facilities. It’s latest application - called ‘Reserved Matters’ – concerned the scale, access, appearance and landscaping of the site which was approved by councillors by ten votes to four.

On Sunday 19th March, the Barrett Family who live in St Thomas, Exeter held their annual charity darts event in aid of sight loss charity, the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB).
