Devon Badger Group's events for National Badger week

National Badger Week is organised by the Badger Trust and will take place from June 25th-2nd July.

The importance of women in engineering is being celebrated today and supported by the Met Office.

Today is National Women in Engineering Day, a day promoted by the Women's Engineering Society to mark their achievements in engineering.

Women's Running 10k comes to Exeter

On Sunday (26 June) Women’s Running magazine, Solgar Vitamins and its Women’s Running 10K race will be arriving in Exeter for the first time, promising a fun, friendly and supportive atmosphere at the picturesque Riverside Valley Park.

Staff at a local opticians in Exeter are donning their daftest fancy dress and striking their best poses, as part of Armed Forces week. To show support for this year’s Armed Forces Week (20-26 June), Specsavers Exeter will be hosting a day of fancy dress fun on Saturday 25 June to raise money for Blind Veterans UK (BVUK). Staff at the store will be dressing in the Union Jack colours of red, white and blue to support the cause, with collection boxes so customers are able to make a donation at the till point. University expert wins prestigious literary prize

A University of Exeter expert who brought to life the unusual romance between politician Benjamin Disraeli and his wife has won a prestigious literary prize for her work.

Dr Daisy Hay, Senior Lecturer in English Literature and Archival Studies in the Department of English, has won a 2016 Somerset Maugham Award for her book Mr & Mrs Disraeli – A Strange Romance.

New volunteer toolkit for Exeter

A new toolkit to help Exeter’s cultural organisations engage and manage their volunteers effectively will be launched at Exeter’s Royal Albert Memorial Museum (RAMM) on Tuesday 5 July.

Exeter man killed in crash named

Police investigating a fatal road traffic collision near Ottery St Mary are trying to trace the deceased man's next of kin.

Following formal identification, the man has been named as Robert Christopher Trott, 53, from Exeter.

Extensive enquiries have been carried out to locate Robert’s next of kin but so far have been unsuccessful.

Officers believe Robert has a brother in the Exeter or Plymouth area and are appealing for him or any other family members to get in touch.
