The number of Job Seeker’s Allowance (JSA) claimants in Devon fell to 3,237 during May, the lowest on record.
In Devon the total number of claimants fell 75 when compared to the previous month April.
Seven of Devon’s eight districts experiencing small falls in JSA, ranging between 6 and 8 claimants. Exeter being the exception, with a rise of just 5 claimants over the period.
The claimant rate (proportion of the county’s working age population claiming JSA) remained largely unchanged, South Hams and West Devon falling by just 0.1%.
