Children at Ladysmith Junior School in Exeter received a visit from Bob the Builder who talked to them about the build of their new school and the importance of site safety.

As part of the visit, pupils took part in a competition to have their art work displayed on hoarding around the construction site. BAM Construction Western is building a replacement school for the children. Every year the RSPCA is called out to rescue hundreds of animals across England and Wales after their owners abandon them and in many cases leave them for dead.

In 2015 2,751 animals were rescued by the animal welfare charity with a peak in admissions in July, 534 of those were in Devon.

Now the RSPCA is bracing itself for another summertime influx of dumped animals this year too.

Exminster Victory hall has been announced as a finalist in RGB Building Supplies’ Well-Built Community Fund.

It is now down to the public to vote, and the winner will receive £1000 worth of building materials.

The hall was opened in 1921 to commemorate the end of world war one, and winning the community fund would give Exminster hall the chance to fix the facility.
