Chiefs side to face Bristol Rugby

Rob Baxter has challenged his Exeter Chiefs players to continue driving up their standards as the club look to cement their place in this season’s Aviva Premiership play-offs.

With just four rounds of the scheduled season remaining, the Chiefs welcome local rivals Bristol Rugby to Sandy Park tomorrow for a full-blooded derby encounter (3pm).

Unbeaten in the league since late October, another maximum haul for Baxter’s side will not only guarantee a top four finish, but it will keep them firmly on course for one of the two home semi-final spots.

Following unanimous support for the aims of the Sidmouth and East Beach Management Plan (SEBMP) at the steering group meeting in March, East Devon District Council’s Cabinet voted to adopt the SEBMP at their meeting on Wednesday (5 April).

Exeter College has announced plans to invest £70 million over the next 20 years in creating an ‘Exceptional’ college.

Under the plans, the college has set out a clear vision for its continued upward trajectory from an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ college to be an ‘Exceptional college’. Filming in Exeter has brought in an estimated £140,000 worth of benefits to the city over the last year, new figures have revealed. TV documentaries, dramas, promotional films and adverts have all been shot in Exeter over the last 12 months. The City Council liaise directly with production companies wishing to film in Exeter, advising on the suitability of locations, how to gain access and places to stay and eat out at. Take part in our Haytor conservation days! Join Simon Lee, National Park Ranger, on his monthly volunteer outings to assist in the important restoration and maintenance of the Haytor area. This month we will be repairing major erosion on the track from Haytor Visitor Centre to Haytor Rocks. The work will take place on Sunday 9th April, starting at 10:30 and finishing at 3:30.

A leading South West expert in data protection is highlighting the pitfalls of data protection, following 11 charities being fined by the UK’s data watchdog. The Information Commissioner’s Office has issued fines to high profile charities including Cancer Research UK, The Royal British Legion and Oxfam. The offences included piecing together data from various sources and trading personal details to target new and lapsed donors. The International Fund for Animal Welfare received the highest fine of the 11 charities, at £18,000, after being found to have shared over 5 million donor records...
