Virgin Care has launched a mobile-working system to increase the time Health Visitors can spend with families in Devon, as the organisation continues to transform the Integrated Children’s Services it has run since 2013 to help families feel the difference.

Health Visitors in their Devon Integrated Children’s Services have been given iPads with special secure software meaning they have access to patient notes, emails and best practice information without unnecessary trips to office bases dotted around the county.

Stagecoach South West has unveiled a new fleet of open-top buses for the Bay. The sneak preview took place for businesses attending this year’s Tourism Exhibition & Conference at the Riviera Centre on 15 March.

The Golden Hop122 will start on 29 April and run right through the summer season up to every 20 minutes, 7 days a week. The fleet of six buses will connect St Marychurch, Torquay, Paignton and Paignton Zoo. East Devon District Council and LED are proud to announce that Seaton’s new Jurassic themed adventure golf course at Seafield Gardens, is now ready for play and will be opened officially at 10.30am on Friday 7 April, although people will be able to play on it from 1 April 2017.

Medieval longhouse opens its doors

This spring Dartmoor National Park Authority is pleased to be able to offer a limited number of tours of its grade 1 listed medieval longhouse which has been closed to the public while it undergoes extensive renovations.

Devon Local Nature Partnership has launched its ‘Build for Bees’ competition to inspire the public to provide habitats for pollinators.

It was launched at the Devon Outdoor Learning and Sustainability Conference at Buckfast Abbey as part of the ‘Get Devon Buzzing’ campaign.

Prizes include an exclusive tour of Goren Farm near Honiton, memberships to the Devon Wildlife Trust, Buglife and the Bumblebee Conservation Trust and wildflower seed packs.

Top orchestra makes music with Devon schools

Musicians from four Devon schools had the chance of a lifetime to perform alongside some of the country’s leading instrumentalists in an inspirational concert of work by modern composers. The concert was the culmination of a series of workshops for pupils at Blundell’s, Blundell’s Prep, Uffculme and Exeter Cathedral Schools with the London Chamber Orchestra.
