The River Cottage Festival returns for 2017 over the August Bank Holiday.

There’ll be masterclasses, foraging, dancing, music and of course food! There'll be well-known chefs giving demonstrations, masterclasses to take part in, tasty street food stalls to sample not forgetting our very own River Cottage chefs preparing the best seasonal food for you to enjoy.

You can choose if you come for the day, the evening or the whole weekend - there are different ticket options to suit everyone and under 16s can come for free!

Exeter student's close shave for children’s charity

A kind-hearted student from the University of Exeter is putting her best foot forward, to help raise funds for an essential children’s charity.

Allie Short, 21, is making her final preparations before competing in the gruelling Virgin Money London Marathon, later this month.

The final-year BA Geography student is running the 26-mile course to raise money for Round Table Children’s Wish, a charity which grants wishes to children suffering life-threatening or terminal illnesses.

Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service’s bike advocate team have taken delivery of a new Triumph motorbike. The bike is part of the services road safety educational toolkit for educating and raising awareness with bikers.

A stunning photograph offering a bird’s eye view of waves crashing against the craggy rocks housing a remote lighthouse has received critical acclaim.

The dramatic image, which shows a stormy aerial view of the Fastnet rock located off the coast of Ireland, has been selected as one of the very best in a prestigious national contest.

The photo, captured by University of Exeter engineering expert James Bassitt by using a drone, features among the top entries in the Science Photo Competition, organised by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).

Crealy Adventure Park & Resort launched two brand new features this weekend - the new Junior Driving School ride and the theme park’s first Pop in the Park event. ‘Heaven Sent’ sculpture arrives in Princesshay

This spring, Princesshay plays host to a large and exciting sculpture across the Easter period for three weeks.

‘Heaven Sent’, a partially complete sculpture by Exeter based artist, Simon Ruscoe, has been unveiled in Princesshay, standing on a plinth which will be specially designed to encourage the people of Exeter to support his Kickstarter campaign whilst collecting donations for NSPCC.
