Businesses affected by pandemic have chance to win £1,000 worth of building materials

As part of its Community Fund initiative, RGB Building Supplies is delighted to be launching a new campaign called ‘Surprise Supplies’. Every quarter, two businesses, charities, schools or community groups will receive £1,000 each to spend at an RGB branch.

RGB’s campaign aims to help organisations with projects that could remain uncompleted without the much-needed materials the scheme will provide.

A chef from Exeter has scooped a top prize at the annual British Sandwich & Food to Go Industry Awards, for his mouth-watering bacon and egg creation.

Edd Melloy is chef at the Chandos deli in Exeter. He wowed the panel of judges with his entry, named ‘Crispy Eggs & Bacon’, which scooped him the winning prize for the the Danish Crown Pre Cooked Bacon Category in this year’s Sandwich & Food to Go Designer competition.

Exeter Phoenix has received a National Lottery Heritage Fund grant of £26,000 for its Exeter Cinema Heritage project. Made possible by money raised by National Lottery players, the project aims to document the physical and cultural changes to the landscape of Exeter through its lost cinemas and by recording the stories of its older residents and their earliest memories of visiting the cinema.

National law firm Browne Jacobson has announced its latest partner, legal director and senior associate promotions which took effect from 1 May 2021. They include:

  • 8 promotions to partner
  • 2 promotions to legal director

The Devon County Show have announced unprecedented demand for their Advance Show Tickets, with sales up 600% year on year, as people rush to secure their attendance at this year’s Show after a 26 month absence.

The Show this year on 2, 3 and 4 July will be the 125th in the Show’s history and will be the first County Show to make an appearance on the circuit in 22 months.

A new study has revealed which UK towns and cities offer the most, and least, accessible parking for blue badge holders. Nationwide Vehicle Contracts analysed Parkopedia data for 56 car parks to calculate the percentage of accessible car parks available in each location.
