John Lewis partners with Age UK Exeter to offer IT and Biscuits Day

ITea and Biscuits Week takes place this week (16-22 September). A popular annual event, it aims to encourage older people who don't currently use computers, the internet, tablets and smartphones to discover the benefits this technology offers.

During the week, local Age UKs and other organisations will run free 'taster sessions' across the country, at which older people can learn about technology in a friendly and supportive environment. These events will cover a wide range of useful topics such as using the internet, texting, and digital photography, to name but a few.

Medical School welcomes first Medicine students

The first intake of Medicine students have embarked on the path to becoming a doctor at the University of Exeter Medical School.

The class of 2013 is made up of 130 students have enrolled for the five year degree which will see them working in NHS Trusts across the South West.

Lloyds will be closing temporarily on 15 September for a complete re-fit.

The unveiling of the new brand and official restaurant opening in aid of the restaurant’s designated charity Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF) will take place on Thursday 26 September at 10am with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by City Centre Manager John Harvey.

Police in Exeter are seeking a 42-year-old man who is wanted for a recall to prison.

Mark Sleman (also known as Archie Sleman and Stuart Holmes) from Exeter is currently wanted by police after failing to abide by the conditions of his release from prison.

He was originally convicted of armed robbery.

He is described as a white man, 5’ 11” tall (180cm), of medium build, with cropped ginger hair, blue eyes, a 3-inch scar on his right cheek with a soft English accent. He has numerous tattoos on his arms, including a rose, the name Suggs, a cross and some dots.

Get Active for Oxfam - Join our Zumbathon!

On Saturday 28 September there will be a Zumbathon held at Active Fitness, near Topsham!

All proceeds will go to Oxfam, as part of Oxjam Exeter's 2013 campaign.

There will be two sessions, where participants can Zumba for up to three hours:

Start 10am - Finish by 1pm Start 2pm - Finish by 5pm

£5 entry per person

Suitable for those who love to Zumba on a regular basis or just those who fancy a go!
