Critically acclaimed theatre company Third Man are returning to the Bike Shed Theatre for the premiere of their new production, Mugs Arrows, which was developed at the venue last year. The show will run for three weeks starting on 24 September.

Mugs Arrows is a surreal black comedy set in very ordinary surroundings – the local pub. These geese are part of a global, public-participatory piece I am working on in collaboration with Professor Stuart Bearhop of Exeter University. I am sending out 10,000 postcards in the shape of migratory geese all over the world, asking people to write on them and post them back to me. Those that return to complete their ‘migration’ will hang in a huge installation in the shape of a flock of birds at Hope Hall, Heavitree in Exeter during Devon Open Studios in September.

Devon Wildlife Trust joins legacy campaign

Veteran journalist and newsreader, Angela Rippon, will be joining The Wildlife Trusts in support of this year’s Remember A Charity Week (Mon 9 – Sun 15 Sept 2013).

As one of 140 charities taking part in a series of events around the UK, The Wildlife Trusts are urging people making a Will to take a moment to consider including a gift to charity.

Exeter is to maintain a strong focus on the future for its High Street and City Centre, a new report has revealed.

With many authorities up and down the country coming under criticism for taking their eyes off the high street, Exeter City Council confirmed today that it had very clear plans for the heart of the city, revealing its updated City Centre Strategy.

Rising prices and burgeoning buyer demand have led to significant increases in homes coming onto the South West property market, says the August RICS Residential Market Survey.

During August, 68 percent more chartered surveyors reported increases not decreases in new instructions in the region (from +42 percent in July). More than £500.00 was recently raised for Home-Start, the Exeter-based national family support charity, at a Ritz styled tea party held at Badgers-Silverton, organised by members of The Rotary Club of Exeter Enterprise. The Scottish dancers troup performed superbly to the delight of the assembled guests and of course the weather was also great.

Club members would also like to thank everyone who gave up their time to support and attend this event, especially Nigel and Claire Harvey for the loan of their beautiful garden and their generous hospitality.
