Money problems rising

Local charity Exeter Citizens Advice Bureau today publishes its latest advice trend statistics which shows that at the end of July 2014 it helped 2090 people directly with advice and information in the first four months of the financial year.

The amount of advice that the charity has been able to provide has increased in the following areas compared to the same period last year:

An exciting partnership begins this autumn – The Barnfield will host Komedia’s Krater Comedy Club. The Krater Comedy Club has run for 15 years at Komedia Brighton and five years at Komedia Bath. In that time it has hosted the biggest names UK comedy and Komedia has won more Chortle Comedy Awards for the Best Venue than any UK operator (eclipsing even The Comedy Store). ‘I Love to Boogie' with T.Rextasy

In 1973 a record was released which would bridge the generation gap and become a rock anthem to both young and old – ’20th Century Boy’ was written and composed by Marc Bolan, who with his band T.Rex, was one of the most flamboyant and charismatic of the original glam rock era. With Bolan’s special ingredient of Rock-a-Boogie songs throughout the 1970s including ‘Telegram Sam’ and ‘Jeepster’ he was able to obtain what would be yet another Top 20 record later in 1976 that has since become one of the most memorable and everlasting signature tunes, ‘I Love to Boogie’.

Charles Dickens adapted ‘Sikes and Nancy’ from the grislier material in Oliver Twist. It became the most notorious of his legendary Public Readings; a masterpiece of high Gothic melodrama. Audiences were shocked into silence. Women would scream and faint. ‘I shall tear myself to pieces,’ Dickens vowed before one performance. He surely did – it is now thought that the strain of ‘The Murder’ hastened Dickens’s early death.
