Organisers of the inaugural South West Rugby 7s are offering one lucky team the chance to play at the tournament for free. Teams that enter the South West Rugby 7s before April 30th will be entered into a draw to have their entry fee refunded, which includes 10 passes to the European Grand Prix 7s taking place at Sandy Park on the same weekend. The new 7s tournament, which has already attracted several teams, will take place between the 10th and 12th of July – starting with an opening party on the Friday night and continuing with rugby action throughout the weekend. Scientists urge public to take part in final part of health survey

Scientists in Cornwall are making a final appeal for people to take part in research that will shed light on the health effects of marine pollution.

To help them assess the health risks that ocean-goers might face, the researchers want to compare the health of people who venture into the waves with those who stay firmly on shore.

The University of Exeter Medical School is working with Surfers Against Sewage to conduct the study, with the final phase starting on Monday 13th April. They are asking adults living in England and Wales to respond to a short online survey,...

A leading training provider is boosting awareness of the wide range of apprenticeship opportunities in the South West.

Positive Outcomes has apprenticeships available across sectors such as IT, business, property, customer services and retail.

During the Skills South West event, it held a competition to win £100 high street vouchers in an aim to draw attention to apprenticeships and what they offer. Local NHS Trust finishes runner-up in national patient experience awards

The NHS Trust that runs Exeter Community Hospital in Whipton and community health and social care services across the city finished runner-up at a national awards ceremony for its work to resolve complaints at the earliest possible stage.

The Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust was a finalist in the Patient Experience Network National Awards (PENNA), which took place at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre.

Pioneering new research has unlocked a new technique to help combat the rise of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, that cause debilitating and often life-threatening human illness.

Researchers from the University of Exeter has shown that the use of ‘sequential treatments’ – using alternating doses of antibiotics – might offer effective treatment against bacterial infection.
