Police search for pink paint vandal

British Transport Police (BTP) is appealing for information after a vandal painted parts of the railway infrastructure in Exeter, causing £500 worth of damage.

A railway signal, ladder, junction box and 20 sleepers were all painted bright pink close to Polsloe Bridge station on Sunday, 14 June. Officers have now released a photograph of the scene and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward information.

New guide for landlords and letting agents aims to improve standards for tenants

Local landlords and letting agents are being offered a free good practice guide in an attempt to drive up standards in Exeter.

The initiative is being launched by Exeter City Council in partnership with the newly formed Exeter Private Rental Forum.

The guide is aimed at helping landlords and agents understand their rights and responsibilities. It is hoped this will result in an improved service for tenants.

A new headmaster has been appointed to lead Exeter’s 800 year old Cathedral School.

James Featherstone is currently Head of the Lower School at the Perse School in Cambridge, one of England’s top performing independent schools.

He will take up his role as the Headmaster of Exeter Cathedral School from January next year, when current head Stephen Yeo leaves after four years to take up his new post leading Britain’s elite music school, The Purcell School for Young Musicians.

Sidmouth’s Manor Pavilion Theatre has topped the bill with its own audiences after being awarded a Certificate of Excellence Award from TripAdvisor.
