Icescape Westpoint all set to return this winter

AFTER a successful first year at Westpoint Arena, the sizable real ice rink returns to the venue this winter.

The main Westpoint Arena building will once again host the festive attraction from Thursday 11th December 2025 to Sunday 4th January 2026.

There’s space for up to 400 skaters in each 45-minute skate session on the ice, with various session types throughout the day. The NHS in Devon is reminding people how vital it is to have both doses of the Covid-19 vaccination to get the best protection from the virus and circulating variants; including the so called Indian and Kent variants.

The number of people in Devon not attending their second appointment has risen in recent weeks.

Thousands of tiny worms will be launched into space today (3 June) to help scientists to understand more about muscle loss and how to prevent it.

Travis Perkins creates 10 new roles ahead of branch opening in Exeter

Travis Perkins, the UK’s largest supplier of building materials to the building and construction industry, has recruited 10 people from the surrounding area to fill part time and full-time roles ahead of opening its new branch in Exeter in August, bringing the total number of roles to 25.

The 10 new jobs that have been created include a branch apprentice, a Benchmarx kitchen designer, a yard manager, a tool hire driver and fitter, a HGV Driver and five yard sales positions.

Exeter-based charity, Veterans With Dogs, has announced the launch of a new fundraising initiative on Armed Forces Day, 26th June. The charity is asking supporters across the UK to join forces and walk with their four-legged sidekicks for a total of 26 minutes, with the aim of raising £5,000.
