Leading South West building services engineering company EX2 Group has welcomed three new apprentices this week, as they begin their professional training in Electrical Installation with Exeter College.

Christian, Alfie, and Harvey were welcomed to the Exeter offices by James Rayner (right), Project Manager. On the weekend of 25th September , people of varying ages and abilities from Exeter got involved with this year’s Learn to Play Day event. Organised by the charity Music for All, people across the UK travelled to music stores and community centres, to take advantage of a range of free music lessons. Hobbycraft has launched a series of Paint Your Own Ceramic workshops for kids of all ages and painting abilities.

The workshop will be led by one of Hobbycraft’s in-store craft experts, with all money going to its charity partner, Together for Short Lives. The charity helps every child and family living with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition get the very best care and support they can, so they can make the most of every moment together.

Former Exeter City Council leader Pete Edwards dies

Former Exeter City Council Leader Pete Edwards has died in hospital following a short illness, the City Council has announced.

He served the city of Exeter as a councillor for 30 years, from 1984 to 1988 in the then Barton ward and then from 1995 to 2019 in the Mincinglake and Whipton ward.

He was Leader of the Council from 2011 until his retirement in 2019. Previously he had served as Lead Councillor for Housing under the leadership of Cllr Roy Slack. He was also Lead Councillor for Environmental Health and Leisure for a short period.
