Leading South West building services engineering company EX2 Group has welcomed three new apprentices this week, as they begin their professional training in Electrical Installation with Exeter College.

Christian, Alfie, and Harvey were welcomed to the Exeter offices by James Rayner (right), Project Manager. Virgin Media O2 connects Exeter to gigabit broadband

Virgin Media O2 has today added thousands of homes in Exeter to its gigabit network, connecting areas in and round the city to broadband speeds 16 times faster than the local average.

Virgin Media’s next-generation Gig1 broadband service, with average download speeds of 1,130Mbps, is the fastest available from any of the major broadband providers. It is the UK’s largest gigabit provider – more than twice the size of its nearest competitor.

Exeter student aims to combat world hunger with ‘nutritionally complete’ and sustainable food bar

An Economics student is juggling his studies with plans to tackle world hunger by developing a ‘nutritionally complete’ food bar, which has already proved a hit with Exeter’s homelessness charities.

James Frost, a third year student at the University of Exeter Business School, was inspired to create the Phoenix Bar after noticing on Facebook that a friend had pledged to eat the same food for a week as Syrian refugees arriving in the UK.

Appeal after indecent exposure at Exeter railway station

Police officers investigating an indecent incident at Polsloe Bridge station have released images in connection.

At 3pm on Saturday 13 November, a teenage girl noticed a man on the station platform staring at her. She walked over towards a bin and noticed that he was masturbating and exposing himself to her.

Officers believe the man in the images may have information which could help their investigation.

Devon gearing up for Storm Barra

Devon is expecting another battering from the latest named storm tomorrow (Tuesday 7 December).

Storm Barra is forecast to bring gale force winds, particularly in coastal areas, from 9am tomorrow until 6pm on Wednesday.

Six COVID-19 vaccines are safe and boost immunity for people who have had two doses of AstraZeneca or Pfizer-BioNTech, results from the UK-wide COV-BOOST trial show.
