In July EX2 Group was proud to support Building Greater Exeter’s Work Experience Week, an inspiring initiative aimed at introducing Year 10 students to careers in the built environment.

Sexual abuse involving children rises

Devon and Cornwall Police have responded to a report from the NSPCC released today, Wednesday, June 17, 2015, regarding reports of sexual abuse involving children.

The NSPCC suggests reports of sexual abuse involving children have risen from 747 in 2012/13 to 1,125 in 2013/14. The figures have come as a result of Freedom of Information Act requests to police forces nationwide.

Unite launch campaign to defend community hospitals

Unite Community members from across Devon will be starting a summer long campaign today (Thursday 18 June), to highlight cuts to community hospital beds with a protest outside County Hall in Exeter. Plans have been put forward to replace community hospital beds in Devon with a system of home care called “care closer to home”. Concerns are mounting that the loss of the beds will leave elderly and vulnerable patients recovering from operations and other treatments isolated, as well as putting pressure on over stretched critical wards at district hospitals. Set to return for its third successful year, the charity golf day is a fantastic fun-filled event for budding pro and novice golfers alike to dust off their golf clubs and take to picturesque greens of Dainton Park Golf Club.

Plans underway for new Park and Ride

Plans are underway for a new site for a proposed Park and Ride on the edge of Exeter.

Devon County Council is set to begin pre-application discussions on a new location for the Park and Ride at the A30 Alphington Interchange junction.

Previous proposals had looked to develop the Oaklands Stable site, accessed off Alphington Road. However, following recent evaluations a new site at “Round Field” is proposed, which is on the other side of the A30 junction between the westbound slip road and the road that leads out towards Ide.
