The inaugural mass participation, Workplace Challenge Midday Mile takes place at noon on Wednesday 20th May.

Devon employees will be joining with others across the country, taking a break from their desks, factories and shop floors to walk, jog, run, or cycle this fun, social, mile.

Calls for rethink on Exeter transport plans

A group campaigning for better travel solutions in the south west areas of Exeter is calling on local councils to review their current plans for transport provision across Alphington, Marsh Barton, Cowick and the 3,000 homes due to be built on the Alphington/Exminster edges of the city.

On Sunday 15 March children are invited to make a natural present for mum at ‘Making Mothers’ Day special’ at the Younghayes Centre in Cranbrook, EX5 7DR.

Over 65s call for safer streets

Potential measures to make walking on the streets safer and easier are a right priority for the next Government, according to 57 per cent of people aged 65 and over living in the South West. These are the results of a YouGov poll commissioned by Living Streets and published today (27 January 2015).

Opening of Clearbrook Ramp improves accessibility of Drake’s Trail

The final section of a walking and cycling route linking Dartmoor to Plymouth was opened to the public on Friday 28 November.

The development of the Clearbrook Ramp project, near Yelverton, has been the final hurdle in making Drake’s Trail, between Plymouth and Tavistock, accessible to all cyclists and less able users. This section of the off-road route has been funded by Devon County Council and the Department for Transport as part of the £7 million “Granite and Gears” programme designed to improve cycle access to, and within, Dartmoor National Park.
