Stagecoach unveils new open top service for Torbay

Stagecoach South West has unveiled a new fleet of open-top buses for the Bay. The sneak preview took place for businesses attending this year’s Tourism Exhibition & Conference at the Riviera Centre on 15 March.

The Golden Hop122 will start on 29 April and run right through the summer season up to every 20 minutes, 7 days a week. The fleet of six buses will connect St Marychurch, Torquay, Paignton and Paignton Zoo. Devon crash leaves man critically injured

Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision in Torquay which left a man critically injured.

Emergency services were called just before 2.30pm on Friday 4 November 2016 following the collision between a black Vauxall Agila, a grey Citroen Berlingo and a multi-coloured Mercedes skip lorry on Beechfield Avenue, Torquay.

Three people are in police custody following a firearm incident in Devon.

The Exeter-based police helicopter was involved in a search following the incident.

Police were called at around 3.30pm yesterday (Monday 29th August) with reports of gunfire being heard and a vehicle being rammed in the Fore Street area of Torquay.

Police Armed Response Units were called to the scene and one man was discovered to have sustained a number of pellet wounds believed to have been from an air rifle, and was subsequently take to hospital.

The Exeter-based police helicopter was scrambled after an incident involving a firearm in Devon.

Officers set up a cordon and began a search in the Starpitten Grove of Torquay at 11pm yesterday (Monday).

Insp Mark Waldron, force incident manager and tactical firearms commander, told the Torquay Herald Express: "There is an ongoing incident. There has been an allegation of a serious nature in that location. We would ask that anybody who saw anything in that location at about 9.30pm this evening (Monday August 29) should contact us.

Man dies after car plunges off cliff

Police were called at 1.15am on Sunday 21 August 2016 with a report of a blue BMW X5 which had left Torbay Road and driven through a barrier and then over the cliff at Corbyn headland, coming to a rest on the beach.

RNLI, Coastguard, police, ambulance and other emergency services attended the scene. The sole occupant of the vehicle, a 41 year old male, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A witness to the incident left the scene without leaving his details and police are appealing for him, and any other witnesses to the incident, to come forward to assist the enquiry....

Police search for missing Devon teenager

Police are appealing for information about a missing teenage boy who was last seen near the River Dart in Totnes.

Officers have been searching for 16-year-old Nathan Wood, from the Paignton area, after he went missing while out with a group of female friends on Friday 5 August.

Nathan was last seen in the Swallowfields area of Totnes, at the Dartington Hall end of the River Dart and the back of King Edward the Sixth Community College, at around 6pm.
