'Courier fraud' probe arrests

Zephyr, the south west’s regional organised crime unit, has made arrests in Scotland as part of its ongoing probe into courier fraud.

Detectives from Zephyr were joined by officers from Police Scotland to execute search warrants on properties in the Castlemilk and Crosshill areas of the city of Glasgow.

They are the first arrests made north of the border and follow arrests throughout the south west and in East London.

New chapter for Tiverton youth centre

Tiverton Youth Centre, one of Devon County Council's eight youth hubs, starts a new chapter this week with its first sessions since the service was restructured.

To many through the doors, the open access sessions will look and feel the same, offering the popular activities that they already enjoy: sports, cooking, art and information, advice and guidance.

But the multifunctional hub will also be a base from which trained youth workers will deliver a combination of targeted support to vulnerable young people via schools and in communities alongside social work teams....

Bampton Fair existed even before King Henry III granted it a Royal Charter in 1258 and it is always held on the last Thursday of October. It is one of the oldest surviving Charter Fairs in the country.

For centuries, the fair mainly sold sheep and cattle and was the largest sheep fair in the South West of England. During the 1880's to the 1980's it evolved to become the famous Bampton Pony Fair trading in Exmoor ponies.

Spooky late-night opening at Knightshayes

Cllr Susan Griggs, the Mayor of Tiverton attended an evening event to celebrate the completion of the new £1.8m extension to Clare House Surgery located in Newport Street, Tiverton.
