Community projects invited to apply for award

Community organisations across Devon are being invited to apply for the 2016 Prince of Wales Award, organised by the Devon County Agricultural Association on behalf of HRH the Prince of Wales to recognise small scale projects geared to local sustainability.

The winning entry will receive £1,000 to boost its funds, as well as a certificate signed by Prince Charles, to be presented at the DCAA’s flagship event, the Devon County Show, which will be held this year from May 19-21.

Law firm donates theatre tickets to charities

The Family Law Company, sponsors of The Bike Shed Theatre's Christmas show, are giving fifty tickets to local charities this Christmas.

Working with Families for Children and Children’s Hospice South West, young children and their carers will enjoy an original theatre production followed by popcorn and drinks at a special party on 10 December, provided by the local law company.

Reeves & Mortimer show cancelled

Vic Reeves & Bob Mortimer’s promoter has confirmed that comedian Bob Mortimer has undergone a successful triple bypass heart operation, and subsequently their Plymouth show on Sunday 29 November has been cancelled.

Following the operation, Bob will need to rest and recuperate for several weeks. Because of this, the first leg of the upcoming UK tour ‘25 Years of Reeves and Mortimer – The Poignant Moments’ has been cancelled. It is hoped that the January and February 2016 shows will go ahead as planned.
