Tiverton Golf Club to host Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers tribute show

COUNTRY music fans will be in for a treat when award-winning tribute acts to Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers perform in Tiverton.

Kelly O’Brien and Peter White, both winners at the National Tribute Awards in 2013, are bringing The Dolly and Kenny Show to Tiverton Golf Club on Saturday 14 May.

Tickets cost £12 and are now on sale to the public from the club bar.

The event will coincide with The Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebration at Windsor Castle from 12 to 15 May.

Tommy Tiernan is now in his 20th year as a stand-up comedian having won every award going, including stand-up comedy’s big prize the Perrier Award at Edinburgh Festival, and is still as passionate as ever about story-telling and comedy.

He has been voted ‘Ireland’s Funniest Living Person’, he appeared on Father Ted as well as the Late Show with David Letterman in the USA and set the Guinness World Record for a stand-up show with a staggering 36 hours and 15 minutes....

Community projects invited to apply for award

Community organisations across Devon are being invited to apply for the 2016 Prince of Wales Award, organised by the Devon County Agricultural Association on behalf of HRH the Prince of Wales to recognise small scale projects geared to local sustainability.

The winning entry will receive £1,000 to boost its funds, as well as a certificate signed by Prince Charles, to be presented at the DCAA’s flagship event, the Devon County Show, which will be held this year from May 19-21.
