Libraries across Devon are encouraging residents to ‘think differently’ this month as part of a project to inspire creativity.

A series of events and activities associated with experiment, discovery, play, learning and reflection will be held throughout June aimed getting people to try something new.

Football fun in the sun this half term with Exeter City

Exeter City’s Football in the Community Trust is once again running a full programme of popular children’s football roadshows during the May half term, following the success of the Easter events which were attended by around 500 children from across the region.

Tai Chi - it's as easy as ABC!

Free Tai Chi instruction will now be available at the opening event for the much improved Jubilee Gardens on the seafront in Seaton (in front of the clock tower) on Saturday 4 May. There will also be live musicians and chess lessons on offer.

Elizabeth Road play park revamp to get underway in Seaton

Work is due to start on the much anticipated revamp of Elizabeth Road play park in Seaton during the week of 25 February, and the improvements will be those designed and voted for by local residents.

Seaton Town Council and East Devon District Council have been working closely together and with local people to make £42,000 worth of eagerly anticipated improvements to the Elizabeth Road play area.

There will be another attraction this summer in Seaton, with East Devon District Council starting work on the new design for Seafield Gardens today (11th February). The completed feature will include seating, interpretation panels and chess and draughts boards where people can play their own games.

The £35,000 refurbishment of Seafield Gardens in Seaton to replace a broken, worn out and costly water feature is an important scheme for the town and has involved the community at every stage.

Update: 52A, 52B and 380 are now all able to serve their normal routes.

Stagecoach has announced the following disruptions.

52 service: Due to a police road closure the 52 can now only serve as far as Sidmouth Triangle.

Honiton service 20 is currently suspended due to weather conditions, it cannot serve Seaton or Taunton.

14-year-old boy shaken by attempted robbery in Seaton

Officers are investigating an attempted robbery on a 14-year-old boy in Seaton.

The Seaton schoolboy was walking along Valley View on 3 January when he was approached from behind by a man who grabbed him by the jumper and tried to snatch his iPhone.

The phone fell to the ground and the offender made off empty-handed towards the fire station.

The boy was left very shaken by the incident which happened around 5.35pm and the phone was damaged.

Safety risk means cliff fall road will not re-open

An East Devon coastal road closed by a cliff fall during heavy rainfall in the Summer will not re-open, Devon County Council has confirmed.

Old Beer Road in Seaton has been closed since 12 July after a 25 metre section of the road fell away by around three metres.
