A recent study from conveyancing solicitors, Bird & Co, has uncovered the UK’s most sought-after locations, having analysed June 2021 figures from the Office of National Statistics, HM Land Registry and Rightmove.

Known for its stunning beaches and bustling historic cities, Devon has scooped the top spot as the most migrated to county in the United Kingdom.

The study found that a whopping 8,521 UK citizens moved to this region in 2020, a marked change from the previous year, when Devon came second to that of Kent.

West Country house builder Devonshire Homes has donated a further £2,900 to the William Wates Memorial Trust.

Following its donation of £1,000 back in January, this second donation from Devonshire Homes comes as the property market continues to boom. The vital funds have been raised through Devonshire Homes’ open-market sales where £50 is donated to the Trust for every sale.

Trading Standards urges renters not to be caught out by banned tenancy fees

Devon, Plymouth, Somerset and Torbay Trading Standards Service has launched a new campaign to help prevent renters in the region being caught out by fees that have now been banned.

The law on what landlords and letting agents can charge tenants when beginning, ending or changing their contracts has changed.

It means renters can no longer be asked to pay extra for things like professional cleaning and having pets, or charged for references and credit checks.

The changes mean that there is only a limited number of fees which are still allowed by law.

In March 2020, as airlines around the world began to shut down, like so many people, work and travel plans for two young Exeter ladies were put on hold.
