The Devon Fire and Spice Festival comes to Powderham Castle this August for a celebration of barbecuing , chillies and spice,

This fiery weekend takes place on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th August, set between the castle ramparts and the Exe estuary, and this themed food festival will focus on hot sauces, spice rubs and mixes, chilli plants, barbecues, smokers and barbecue sauces, with plenty for the non-chilli lover too.

Police make drugs arrests at Powderham Lockdown event

Devon and Cornwall Police say there were a number of drug-related arrests linked to Lockdown event at Powderham Castle over the weekend, but there were no reports of sexual assaults at what was a largely peaceful event.

Chief Inspector Adrian Leisk, who is in charge of the policing of the event, said: “Lockdown was largely trouble-free with only a couple of assaulted related arrests throughout the weekend.

Devon and Cornwall Police are working closely with the organisers of this years’ Lockdown music festival which will be held on the Powderham Castle estate near Exeter. This close working will ensure a safe and enjoyable event for everyone.

Fans with tickets for Olly Murs’ cancelled Powderham Castle show have been offered replacement tickets for one of the singer’s alternative show dates.

The pop star announced on Twitter today that fans will be able to swap their tickets for either the Swansea show on Saturday 12 August or the Victorious Festival in Portsmouth on Saturday 27 August.

Thousands of Olly Murs fans have been left disappointed after it was announced that his concert at Powderham Castle next weekend has been cancelled.

Event organisers, Stephen C Associates Limited, has gone into insolvency and is now expected to go into liquidation.
