Police are appealing for witnesses following an alleged sexual assault in Exeter City Centre this weekend.

Police were contacted following reports that a woman in her 20’s was sexually assaulted near Buffet City, between 2.00am and 2.10am on Sunday 23rd July.

A 31-year-old man was arrested in connection to this incident and has since been released under investigation as police enquiries continue into this matter.

Operation Tramline, a roads policing operation held over two weeks in Devon and Cornwall (3-7 and 10-14 July) on the M5, A30, A38 and sections of the A361, has been declared a success.

82 vehicles were stopped, and 105 offences were recorded which included 37 drivers using handheld mobile devices. With tens of thousands of holidaymakers due to descend on us over the next few weeks, the emergency services have united in a campaign aimed at keeping everyone safe on the coast.

Police and Crime Commissioner Alison Hernandez has put plans to appoint a deputy on hold after the Police and Crime Panel voted not to confirm Mark Kingscote in the role. Police appeal after serious assault in Exeter

Police are investigating a serious assault in Exeter which left a man with facial injuries.

The assault took place near to the taxi rank in Fore Street between 3.20am and 3.45am on Sunday 25 June.

The victim, a 23-year-old man, intervened in an ongoing fight and was then assaulted.

At least three male offenders are believed to have been involved and the victim sustained a broken nose and other facial injuries.

Police are investigating and keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the assault or have information to assist their enquiries.

Police appeal following multiple assaults in Exeter

Police have launched an appeal for victims to come forward following a mass assault in Exeter.

Police received reports of a disturbance in Exeter City Centre at around 3am on Saturday 22nd of April. Units attended and after a short chase, two men aged 30 and 27 were arrested on suspicion of affray; the 27-year-old has since been released with no further action to be taken against him.

Motorcyclist seriously injured in Exeter crash

Police were called just after 7pm on Friday 30 June 2017 to reports of a two vehicle collision on the Moor Lane junction with Osprey Road, Sowton, Exeter.

A black Alfa Romeo MiTO car and a Honda CB 600 motorbike were both travelling northbound from the direction of Exeter Moto Services towards the Honiton Road Park and Ride Roundabout when the collision occurred.

Stamps donated to mark D&C Police 50th year anniversary

A stamp collection dating back to 1979 has been donated to the South West Police Heritage Trust.

Following the 150th anniversary in 1979 of the formation of the Metropolitan Police, the Post Office issued a set of four stamps to the Force to celebrate their anniversary. This was followed by Devon and Cornwall Constabulary producing their own commemorative handstamp for use on the same day.
