Police launch investigation after alleged sexual assault in Exeter

Police are appealing for witnesses following an alleged sexual assault in Exeter City Centre this weekend.

Police were contacted following reports that a woman in her 20’s was sexually assaulted near Buffet City, between 2.00am and 2.10am on Sunday 23rd July.

A 31-year-old man was arrested in connection to this incident and has since been released under investigation as police enquiries continue into this matter.

It is believed that there was a witness to the incident who was stood outside Exeter Snooker Club on the corner of Guinea Street and George Street; police are wanting to identify and speak to this person as he may hold information vital to the investigation.
