British Transport Police (BTP) officers are appealing for the public’s help to identify two men they would like to speak to in connection with the theft of a passenger’s property from a train.

Officers believe the men in this photograph will have information which can assist the investigation into the incident which took place on a northbound CrossCountry service on Thursday, 31 July 2014.

Police and Crime Commissioner Tony Hogg has invited all those planning to stand in next year’s general election to a briefing where he will outline strategic policing matters across the peninsula.

Police in Mid Devon are appealing for information following a number of house burglaries which may be connected. The first occurred sometime between Tuesday 30 September and Thursday 2 October at a property in Bramford Speke.

A garage at the property was entered and a ‘Karakoram’ mountain bike valued at £900 was stolen. Sometime on Tuesday 8 October a property at Three Horse Shoes, Cowley near Exeter was entered via an insecure front door whilst the occupant was in the rear garden.

M5 police crackdown catches 291 drivers

The first ever policing operation covering the entire length of the M5 has resulted in 291 people being dealt with for traffic and other offences.

Operation Unity brought together officers from seven police forces working jointly as a team to proactively police the M5 corridor, from its start at Junction 1 in West Bromwich, near Birmingham, to its end at Junction 31 at Exeter where the Devon Expressway and A30 both commence.

Fugitive convicted of violent assault in an Exeter bar arrested in Spain

An Exeter fugitive has been arrested in Spain and returned to prison following a lengthy investigation to locate him. Scott Kelly, 33, was convicted of a violent assault in March 2005 after stabbing a man in the back during a dispute in a bar in Exeter. He was sentenced to seven years in prison with an extended five year licence. Kelly was released in October 2013 but he failed to abide by the conditions of his licence and fled to Spain. Katie Alexander is from Brixham and was last seen at Petitor Road in Torquay at around 9.40pm on Sunday 5 October.

Katie is white, of slim build, 5”2 tall, short straight red hair and has blue eyes.

She was believed to be wearing a white sweater, blue jeans, white and blue trainers with a red flash, and also possibly also carrying a pale grey hoodie.

Police are appealing for the public’s help to find a missing Taunton man who may be in the Devon and Cornwall area. William Douglas, 52, has not been seen since 7am on Wednesday 1 October when he left for work, which he did not attend.

He was reported missing to police who have been conducting enquiries to locate him. William is described as white, 5ft 11ins tall, with grey hair and a Scottish accent. British Transport Police (BTP) is appealing for information and witnesses following an incident which took place on board a train travelling between Exeter St Davids and Bristol Temple Meads railway stations.
