It’s time to dig out that running kit or walk your way to the finish line! Sport Relief is here again and Teignbridge District Council, with Stover School, is urging everyone to get involved.

On Sunday 23rd March the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile will be setting off from Stover School, Newton Abbot, at 12.30pm with hundreds of locals getting on their marks, set and go for Sport Relief.

Super sprinters, willing walkers, and even the little ones, will all feel at home with a choice of one, three, six miles or a family focussed ‘buggy mile’ but even if people don’t fancy...

Appeal for missing woman from Newton Abbot

Police are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of a missing Devon woman and are appealing for the public’s help in finding her.

Martine Blair, 35, from Newton Abbot, was last seen at around 3.20pm on Friday 28 February in the Derriford area of Plymouth.

She is believed to be in the Paignton area and is described as white, 5ft, with brown shoulder-length hair, blue eyes and of slight build.

She was last seen wearing a leopard print fur coat, green top, blue jeans and was carrying a beige bag.

Appeal for information after theft at Newton Abbot ASDA

Police in Newton Abbot have released an image of a man they would like to identify in connection with a theft at a supermarket in the town.

The incident took place at around 1400 hours on Saturday, 15 September 2012 at the ASDA store on Highweek Street.

A man used the self-scan till, voided the transaction and left the supermarket without paying for the goods worth around £42.

Anyone who may have information regarding the man featured in the image is asked to contact the Police on 101 quoting reference JN/12/2562.

New South Devon University Technical College bid out for public consultation

A proposal for a new University Technical College (UTC), based in Newton Abbot, focusing on the Engineering, Water and Environmental sectors is out for public consultation during October.

University Technical Colleges are a new concept in education. UTCs will be equipped to the highest standards to provide top quality, technically-orientated courses.
