Racing starts at 14:10 and gates open at 12:10. The last race will be at 17:20.

The Family Enclosure will be open, providing garden games and inflatables for children to enjoy while parents can enjoy a great view of the track from the centre of the course.

Boyzone and Alesha wow Devon crowds

Thousands of excited fans descended on Newton Abbot Racecourse to watch Boyzone and Alesha play the racecourse’s first-ever concert on Sunday 28th June.

The sun shone as over 7,000 fans came from all over the country, including places as far as Germany, to go back to the nineties and watch Boyzone perform some of their most popular songs from their 20 year career.

Racing action returns to Newton Abbot

The action returns to Newton Abbot on Friday 12th June for the racecourse’s next fixture of the season, which will be followed by live music from local band Station Road.

Champion trainer Paul Nicholls has made two entries for Friday’s feature race at Newton Abbot, as he looks to add to his already impressive record at the course.

Urgent work to start on Teign Estuary Viaduct

Vital maintenance work on Devon’s largest bridge, the Teign Estuary Viaduct, is due to start next month, and will take six months to complete.

The 40 year old bridge, which carries the A380 dual carriageway over the River Teign Estuary, needs urgent repairs to a failed expansion joint, at the north end of the viaduct.

Previous temporary repairs to the joint, which stretches across north and southbound lanes, have until now allowed traffic to keep flowing, but a permanent repair is necessary to keep the lanes open.

Devon Cub Scouts first to earn re-launched police badge

Cub Scouts in Devon well and truly did their best to become the first owners of a re-launched police badge in Devon and Cornwall.

More than 30 Cub Scouts from Highweek and Kingskerswell studied personal safety and detective skills to earn the newly-restored Devon and Cornwall Police Cub Scout Badge.

The badge was first presented some years ago but was not being awarded very often. Now thanks to the support of Chief Constable Shaun Sawyer and Assistant Cub Scout Commissioner Sandra Johnson, the badge has been re-launched.
