Ripple Energy have announced that Derril Water Solar Park will become Britain's first shared solar park.

Dunsford Community Academy in Exeter has launched a series of environmental initiatives as the school progresses to winning its first Eco-Schools Green Flag award .

The prestigious Eco-Schools programme, which was launched in 1994, requires schools to follow a seven-step framework designed to empower young people to make a difference in their school. There was a record increase in demand for electric car home charging grants in 2020, according to figures from the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles.

Over 42,000 grants for home charging devices were made last year, worth nearly £17m, which was over a quarter of the value of grants since the government launched the scheme in 2014.

Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS) grants provide 75% of the cost of installing electric vehicle devices at domestic properties in the UK.

Motorists with new and used zero emission cars will be able to have their vehicles fitted with the new green number plates at all Hendy dealerships in Devon.

The plates, which feature a green strip on the left hand side of the registration number, identify zero emission vehicles. It is hoped that they will help local authorities implement new policies such as cost-free entry into zero emission zones, and encourage more people to make the switch to eco-friendly driving ahead of the ban on traditional fossil fuel vehicles in 2030, recently moved forward from 2040.

Exeter community centres overcome COVID-19 to complete solar installations

Two Exeter community centres have completed solar power generation projects this month, having faced a deadline coinciding with the COVID-19 lockdown and threatening their viability.
