Members of the Exeter & Heart of Devon Hotels & Restaurants Association raised over £1,500.00 for Hospitality Action at this year’s annual dinner held at the Deer Park Country House Hotel on Monday 5th March. PFK Francis Clark raises over £8,000 for Hospiscare

The Exeter office of PKF Francis Clark has raised £8797.92 for local adult hospice charity Hospiscare after it was named its charity of the year for 2017.

Seven members of staff at the Exeter accountants undertook the Three Peaks Challenge, one of the most challenging mountaineering events in the UK. They raised over £2,000 scaling Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike in 24 hours. The Exeter office also organised dress down days, bake sales and Christmas and Easter competitions.

The Devonian Masonic Chapter of First Principles who meet in Okehampton have raised funds and donated £5000 to five charities throughout Devon, giving £1,000 each to North Devon Hospice, Hospiscare Exeter, Force Cancer Charity Exeter, Rowcroft Hospice Torbay & St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth.

There will be another spectacular Christmas lights show in the village of Thorverton this year.

Andrew Cleave is getting ready for the big switch-on at his Dinneford Street home on Saturday (December 2).

He is just putting the finishing touches to his latest display that will feature 100 sets of lights with everything from Christmas trees, Santas, reindeer and snowmen to sledges on his garage roof.

Great West Run: A cathartic event for Emma

On Sunday 15 October 2017 thousands of runners took part in the Great West Run half marathon in Exeter and amongst them was a team of runners from Hospiscare.

TeamHospiscare35 was initiated by Dr Becky Baines and Dr Jenny Hayes. Both work at Hospiscare and wanted friends, families, colleagues and supporters to run together to celebrate the organisation’s 35th anniversary, raise awareness and fundraise on behalf of the local charity.

This year’s Jolly Good Jaunt is fast approaching on Sunday 29th October. The sponsored walk is guaranteed to be lots of fun and for a very good cause. Much of the money raised will go towards funding the services at Honiton`s Kings House day centre.

The role provided by Day Care is invaluable. Operating on a Tuesday and Thursday, the centre enables patients to take part in a range of activities including crafting and chair-based exercises, a freshly cooked lunch (with veg grown from the garden) and the opportunity to enjoy a variety of different guest speakers and entertainment....

Health and wellbeing charity puts best foot forward for the Great West Run

EXETER health and wellbeing charity the CITY Community Trust is standing by its values and has 30 runners training for the Great West Run – the largest team from one single organisation to take part in this year’s race.

And the charity is supporting two other causes – Exeter Sports Fund and Children’s Hospice South West.

The CITY Community Trust (CCT), which works in partnership with Exeter City Football Club, delivers health, education, wellbeing and physical activity programmes to more than 45,000 members of the community every year.
