Iconic Star Wars villain Darth Vader has been reborn – as a life-sized gorilla.

Open Farm Sunday

This is a national event, a day when farms around the country ask you to get on the land and discover what's going on at your local farm - plus entry is free!

So between 11am and 4pm come along to the farm and delight in all it has to offer.

Kevin and Jo will be making seasonal vegetable flatbreads and telling stories in the community garden.

Deggie & Dawn, whose potion making proved a big hit at Spring at the Farm, will be planting seeds in the vegetable garden and leading wild food walks.

Free fun day at Exeter Uni

You can join the University of Exeter for a free family fun day as part of its diamond jubilee celebrations, and try your hand at a range of activities ranging from tennis tasters to hands-on experiments.

The family Community Day will take place at the University’s Streatham Campus on Sunday 20 March between 12 and 4pm and has been designed to please all ages.

Parking and admission will be free and people are being encouraged to picnic in the award-winning grounds or buy hot food from the farmers market. You can also take part in sessions that will include football skills...

Free childcare available to some toddlers who turn two this month

Parents of toddlers turning two this April are being encouraged by the Deputy Prime Minister to check if they can get free childcare.

From this September, 15 hours of free childcare a week are being made available to around 130,000 two-year-olds from lower income backgrounds across England. The first of these eligible toddlers will have their second birthdays this month.

Local authority figures show that 9,900 children in the South West will be eligible this September.
