Powderham Castle to receive lifeline grant towards restoration of its towers

Powderham Castle in Devon is set to receive a lifeline grant towards essential restoration of its iconic castellated towers from the Historic Houses Foundation.

The Historic Houses Foundation is a major beneficiary of the Heritage Stimulus Fund, recently announced by the UK Government and Historic England, which will provide invaluable support for restoration work on some of England’s most important and vulnerable historic buildings.

The Historic Houses Foundation will now be able to set in place a programme of urgent work that would not otherwise have been possible....

Exeter Chiefs Foundation donates record amounts during lockdown

The Exeter Chiefs Foundation has distributed funds totalling more than £200,000 since lockdown began.

Despite not being able to gather at Sandy Park as usual because of social distancing rules, the trustees met via Zoom to ensure vital funds were still being shared.

CEDA Charity launch new Mini Bus

Members of Devon based disability charity CEDA gathered at the charities base in Exeter to celebrate the arrival of their new accessible minibus. CEDA users, charity supporters, fundraisers and members of the staff team gathered to witness the parents of former CEDA user Greg Hurford cut the ribbon to mark the official launch of the new minibus. CEDA CEO Renata Colley said: “We are all thrilled with the new minibus – it’s going to make enabling our users to access our many services easier and more reliable. Business Club helps Exeter good causes

Exeter Business Club members have once again put their hands in their pockets to help city charities by making their annual charity donation to the Exeter Foundation. Trustee Keiron Northcott accepted the cheque for £1,610 on behalf of the Foundation from co-chairs Alison Jobson and Emma Steele plus members of the club at their Friday meeting. Convertible chairs donated to Bolham Ward

Three convertible chairs have been donated to Bolham Ward at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital to enable carers to stay with their relatives if they need to whilst in hospital.

The donation to the Bolham Ward Trust Fund has been made in memory of former patient Patrick Tilbury by local charities The Exeter Foundation, The Exeter Lions and close friend Laura Coniam.

Patrick’s parents Barbara and David Tilbury organised the £4500 donation to the neurological ward where he spent time being cared for earlier this year.

Funding boost for Sound Gallery CIC
