DCF reaches £10m milestone and welcomes new chairman

Devon Community Foundation is celebrating having given more than £10 million in grants to over 6,000 projects helping local people in need across Devon, Plymouth and Torbay since its start.

Last year saw £700,000 in grants help over 55,000 people in need in the county. This year also saw the Foundation leap into action in response to flood and storm damage helping 119 individuals, 3 businesses and six community groups rebuild their lives after having been flooded.

Alongside this the Foundation has grown its endowment from £1.8 million to £4 million in just five years....

DCF to host awards with BBC Radio Devon

Devon Community Foundation are set to hold their annual Volunteer of the Year awards in October at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum (RAMM) in Exeter, honouring the hard work and achievements of the hundreds of volunteers contributing to community groups across Devon.

The awards will have an added element of excitement as BBC Radio will be broadcasting the awards live with David Fitzgerald as host for the evening.

In partnership with the High Sheriff of Devon and Devon & Cornwall Police, local charity Devon Community Foundation have awarded £16,850 to projects supporting people at the risk of criminal or anti-social behaviour across Devon and build safer communities.

Exeter Chiefs gear up for The Big Walk 2014

Exeter Chiefs are throwing their sizeable weight behind the forthcoming ‘Exeter Foundation Charity Walk’ which has been set up to support a minimum of 20 local charities and organisations. Stillyano to play at Exeter's St James Centre

Local band Stillyano will be playing at the St James Centre starting at 8pm with all proceeds going to the Adam Stansfield Foundation.

The band made who are Antony Stylianou (singer/guitarist ), Ian Kendray (drums) and Seth Dunnett (bass) have seen their popularity and fan base grow have this year been helping raise funds for charities this way throughout the year.
