100 cyders and 100 acts will star in a new festival in September. The Big Apple is a brand new three day event held at Healey’s Cyder Farm, near Perranporth, from Friday 27 to Sunday 29 September 2013. A celebration of the West Country’s cyders and great music, tickets include a tractor ride through the orchards of this working farm and four cyder samples. Oxjam Exeter Takeover is part of a national music festival and will feature up to 120 live music acts at venues across Exeter on 19 and 20 October 2013.
All proceeds raised from the festival will go to Oxfam.

The Unexpected Festival will take place from 15-22 September and will include activities such as art making, music acts and other contemporary performances. It really all is in the name, the festival will not take place in one conventional location, but instead, across several locations in Exeter.

A firefighter who was one of the first on the scene of a major fire in Crediton has created an exhibition charting the history of the buildings involved.
The fire in Buller Square on 2 February 2012 severely damaged five historic thatched cottages and adjoining properties were also damaged by the fire. Ten fire crews were fighting the fire at its height and firefighters were at the scene for three days.
