Learn to meditate outdoors Join local instructor, Katherine Bolton in the peaceful wildlife garden at Seaton Wetlands for an evening of mindfulness and meditation.

Learn basic meditation skills and take home some quick-fix tips for handling stressful or busy times.

If poor weather the class will take place in the Reed Base Classroom.

Please bring a mat/ towel to sit on and wear comfortable loose fitting clothes.

Police warning following East Devon burglaries

Police in East Devon have issued a warning to the public following a number of burglaries in the area.

An investigation is underway following six burglaries in the Sidmouth area since February, all of which have similar methods of entry.

Detective Constable Matt Burnell, said: “Over the past two months there have been six dwelling burglaries in the Sidmouth area.

“The vast majority of properties targeted are detached bungalows and entry is generally forced to windows at the rear of properties. It also appears that the offenders are focussing on stealing jewellery...

Exeter Deaf Academy is delighted to partner with local Devon based Sportiva Events, to support the new Adult and Junior Triathlon events coming to Exmouth on Sunday 20 May.


The event is open to all from 8 years upwards, starting from Exmouth Rugby Club. The adult races include a sprint tri and beginners’ event with a variety of traffic free distances available for junior entrants. Wartime hospital past of Exeter landmark building commemorated

The First World War hospital past of one of Exeter’s landmark buildings and the contribution of doctors and nurses who worked there will be commemorated.

Reed Hall, then called Streatham Hall, housed injured soldiers between 1917 and 1919. It was one of the city’s seven temporary wartime treatment centres for troops.

Experts have uncovered incredible first-hand accounts from those accommodated in the hospitals, as well as medical staff who worked there. Now a heritage plaque will be installed on Reed Hall to mark this history.

YMCA Exeter collaborate with the University of Exeter to record music album

Residents and volunteers at YMCA Exeter are delighted to announce that a recording of their EP album “Blessing” is now available online to download from Spotify, Amazon, Deezer, Google Play and iTunes.

The EP album is the result of a joint project called ‘Making Invisible People Visible’, between YMCA Exeter and Professor Paul Cloke at The University of Exeter. The album took YMCA Exeter residents’ on an emotional journey through song-writing, creativity and public performance, giving them the opportunity to make their voices heard.

Police appeal after burglars break into Exeter home

Police are appealing for information following a burglary in Exeter.

The incident happened on Friday 30 March between the hours of 4pm and 8.30pm at a residential property on Blackboy Road.

The offender used a brick to smash a ground floor window and gain access to the property. A number of sentimental items were taken from the property as well as a quantity of cash.

Investigating officer, DC Jenny Palmer said: “Anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity in the area around this time is asked to contact police.”

Campaigners in Exeter are organising a week of events to raise awareness of the need for a more sustainable and ethical clothes manufacturing industry, as part of a global movement to wipe out human exploitation, waste, and environmental damage.

Fashion Revolution Week takes place from Monday April 23rd until Saturday 28th and the activities in Exeter have been organised by the independent local company Sancho’s, which has two shops in Fore Street selling certified FairTrade fashion clothing and accessories, made from sustainable natural materials.

Darts fans in Exeter will get the chance to see the sport’s greatest ever player in 2018 when Phil Taylor appears in an exclusive exhibition event.

Sixteen-time World Champion Taylor retired from the professional tour following January’s World Championship final, meaning the legendary ‘Power’ will not be appearing in this year’s Premier League for the first time.
