Two women from Exeter who run a coffee morning, and a group that supports families affected by diabetes in the city have scooped volunteering awards from leading charity Diabetes UK. Gillian Epton and Jean Duddridge, who hold a monthly coffee morning in Exeter Cathedral Cafe in aid of the charity, and the Diabetes UK Exeter Snack Pack Group, which organises an array of activities for children with Type 1 diabetes, both received trophies at the 2018 South West Inspire Awards, held at the Castle Hotel in Taunton, Somerset.

The shop on South Street is the first the charity has opened in Exeter and will raise vital funds to help Marie Curie Nurses care for people living with a terminal illness.
