Tributes have been paid to Exeter City Councillor Judy Pattison who died late last week at her Exeter home.
Cllr Pattison, 70, was the Labour Party member for Mincinglake and Whipton.
She was elected to office in Exeter in 2018, having previously served as a councillor in Camden in London. She was Mayor of Camden in 2002/3.

Renowned sculptor Nic Joly has unveiled his latest work, created to help raise much-needed funds for NHS charities. The limited edition piece, which will go on display at Castle Fine Art galleries across the UK, is called ‘We Can Be Heroes’, and carries the message “Who Cares Wins”; a play on words of the famous SAS motto Who Dares Wins.

St Nicholas Priory is one of 445 heritage organisations across the country set to receive a lifesaving financial boost from the government thanks to the £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund to help them through the coronavirus pandemic.

Deliveroo has today announced that it is rapidly expanding the number of riders it works with in Exeter. Deliveroo has been delivering meals in the city for five years now, and now works with over 120 restaurants.
The UK’s leading food delivery company has announced that it will create work for an additional 200 riders in Exeter by the end of the year. Across the UK, the company will have more than doubled the number of riders from 25,000 to more than 50,000 in the UK over the course of 2020.

Exeter Homes Trust celebrated the completion of remodelling work at Atwill Palmer Almshouses, in Exeter’s New North Road.
Due to the pandemic, the celebration was low key, with just a few people in attendance to mark the occasion and Lord Mayor, Cllr Peter Holland, performing the official unveiling. Exeter Homes Trust was determined, however, for their 150 residents to share in the occasion and so have created a Facebook page to showcase the new apartments and the event. A ll of Devon County Council’s 79,000 streetlights will be converted to LED lights within the next two years – reducing carbon emissions by 75%.
It comes as SSE Contracting (SSEC) has been awarded the contracts to maintain the streetlights in Devon and Torbay for the next 10 years – with the aim of the contract being carbon neutral by 2030.
