Amazon to hire more than 80 for seasonal roles in Exeter

Amazon has announced it is hiring for 20,000 seasonal positions across its UK network of fulfilment centres, sortation centres and delivery stations during the festive season, including more than 80 in the Exeter delivery station.

Pay for Operations roles starts at a minimum of £10.00 p/h rising to £11.10 p/h in some parts of the UK for all full-time, part-time, temporary, or seasonal roles in Amazon’s fulfilment centres, sort centres and delivery stations.

A marathon thank you to St John volunteers

Exeter’s Brandon Taylor is running this Sunday’s Virgin Money London Marathon in aid of St John Ambulance.

Paralympian to coach competitive swimming squads

Exeter School is delighted to welcome Paralympian David Hill to coach competitive swimming squads this year.

David is a two-time Paralympian in swimming and triathlon and world and European medallist in swimming.

The British Champion was Team GB's youngest athlete at the Athens 2004 Paralympics and Top 10 Finisher in the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Paralympic Games.

Graffiti on the rise in Exeter

Graffiti is on the rise in Exeter, with a councillor slamming the “idiots” responsible.

The council received more than 1,100 reports of graffiti between 1 April and 16 August – an average of eight a day. It’s meant that demand for the city council’s removal service has “remained high,” members of the strategic scrutiny committee have been told.

Exeter German Doner Kebab has been nominated for ‘Most-Loved Chain’ in Deliveroo’s upcoming Restaurant Awards.

The gourmet kebab chain has been recognised as one of the top contenders for the third annual Restaurant Awards celebrating the best restaurants and grocers available on Deliveroo.
