Devon County Council has received £4.7 million of funding towards two vital road schemes which will help deliver economic growth and tackle congestion.

Staff at a Devon County Council recycling centre in Exeter were shocked to see a cat stranded in a deep container amongst unwanted materials deposited by local residents.
SITA UK employees Chris Murphy and John Hallett who were working at the Pinbrook Road recycling centre on Sunday 12 May, sprung into action to rescue the cat.
They placed it in a second hand cat basket, that was fortunately available in the recycling centre’s resale shop, and called the local people at Cats Protection who were soon on the scene and took the male cat into their care.
