New local energy system could heat Exeter

A new study has shown that a system of local electricity generation and a network of underground hot water pipes can be developed to heat buildings in Exeter. The increased efficiency of the system can lead to lower energy prices and a reduction of 11,000 tonnes per year in the City’s CO2 emissions.

The work, commissioned by Exeter City Council, Devon County Council, the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Trust and the University of Exeter, was prepared by engineering consultants Parsons Brinckerhoff.

European Theme Park family fun is coming to Exeter

Colin De-Vey of Anderton & Rowland’s is promising all the fun of a Theme Park Fair in Exeter, when the huge European Theme Park comes to the city. For 11 days, the Exwick Playing Fields will host a fantastic selection of rides and attractions commencing on Thursday 13 June and running until Sunday 23 June.

Lorraine and Tracy Celebrate 25 Years at Exeter Nuffield

Lorraine Vaughan of Cheriton Bishop and Tracy Teasdale of Ebford are celebrating 25 years of service between them at the Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital.

Lorraine works as a Staff Nurse in Out Patients and started with Nuffield Health in 2003, moving to Exeter in 2006. She said “I love looking after the patients, and the Nuffield is such a friendly and positive place to work. The job has really changed in the last ten years and now I work with the minor-ops team and carry out pre-assessments.”

The University of Exeter is hosting a free festival of arts, music, food and sports at their Forum Piazzas on the Streatham Campus in Exeter this weekend.

The festival includes a range of activities and performance for all the family. Today you can see cookery demonstrations, listen to a variety of music on the external stage and be thrilled by performances by the award-winning clowning troupe Le Navet Bete.
