Devon’s Health Visiting Service gains Baby-friendly status

Devon Integrated Children's Services’ Health Visiting Team, which is led by Virgin Care, has been accredited with ‘Baby Friendly’ status having passed the stage three assessment of the Baby Friendly Initiative – a worldwide programme of UNICEF (the United Nations Children’s Fund) and the World Health Organisation. The initiative recognises that most of the barriers that prevent women from breastfeeding can be removed by access to well-trained health professionals, good quality support in the community and a widespread understanding of the profound health benefits of breast milk....

Devon's Luke Friend has made the final five acts in the race to see who will be the winner of this year's X Factor.

He was described as that dark horse of the competition by judge Sharon Osbourne and Oritse from hit band JLS also backed the 17-year-old to win.

Before this weekend's shows, Luke told TED how no one was safe in the competition after he found himself in the bottom two last week.

Sweet Black Angels

Formed in 2003, the band has supported the likes of Alabama 3 and Wishbone Ash. They recorded their EP at the Levellers studio in Brighton and went on tour to promote it, which all sold out during the tour.

In August 2004 the band signed a promotion and distribution deal and released their debut album ‘Beneath Shadows’ in January 2005.

They have released 2 download singles from this album which have been played on radio stations around the world, recently enjoying a long stay on ISON Live in Australia.
